Howdy Fellow LumberJocks!

I just joined a few weeks ago and found this blog feature to be pretty cool. It’s great to see so many folks sharing their experiences with the woodworking community.

I have actually been blogging about my woodworking (not a commercial site) on Blogger for about six months now, so I hope it’s OK to post the link to my entries there so that I’m not duplicating efforts. (Admins, please let me know if I’m off base. It seems OK based on the posting rules.)

Here’s the link to my latest post. I built a corner slot cutting jig and cut the slots for corner keys in quite a few of the boxes that are on the bench right now.

I’ve been an on-again/off-again woodworker for quite a few years now. The day job keeps me pretty busy…sometimes too busy! I finished up a small set of Zerbawood boxes for Christmas presents and that project really got me fired up about woodworking again.

Since that time I’ve been eating up all the great content online and really making some shop time a priority, even if it’s just a couple hours a week. I sometimes kick myself for all the lost time I could have been out in the shop building and improving my skills! Oh well, I haven’t found plans for a time machine here on LumberJocks yet, so I’ll just have to appreciate the time I have now. :)

Looking forward to learning more and enjoying this great endeavor of woodworking.

Pete

Thanks for posting. I really like these little boxes. I must have been on your blog recently. I swear I was the same photo just a few weeks ago. I have a piece of spalted maple that I can see becoming boxes just like these. Welcome to LJ.
Cheers

Thanks guys!

Glen, I know what you mean. I’ve got a couple pieces of wood that seem so special it’s hard to decide what to do with them. I’ve got a little slab (almost a brick) of spalted Zebrawood that I wish I had a hundred of!
