Been a busy summer…
I finally finished one of Andy’s Art boxes. That was fun; thanks Andy. I gotta get a picture up there tonight. Made a lot of useless stuff this summer too. Mostly practice boxes, but I did build a new gate for my side yard, kids treasure boxes, router table extention on my saw. Gotta look at the pictures cause I forgot the rest.
We spent a week in Virginai at my family’s new summer house. Can you believe they would not let my take my drill in my carry on baggage? With limited tools I still managed to make some cool walking sticks and a swing for the kids.
I’m a little bleary now, I have promised my fater in law, Big Al, I would build him a humidor for his 80th birthday. Spent 3 hours in the shop tonight and all I got set up was the router table to cut mortises for those pesky side rail hinges from Woodcraft (w/o the support). I cut 2 test boxes and don’t think I can get it much closer, so tomorrow I’m going to make the cuts. Please pray for me.
I wonder if he will understand that built and finished are 2 completly seperate phases of the project with problems all of their own. His birthday is Friday.
Feels good to vent. Now I gotta go find those pics of Andy’s Art box.
