I have been working on a humidor now for quite some time. The construction took about 2 weeks and I just sprayed the final coat of laquer on it about 5 minutes ago. The humidor is a birthday present for my father in-law, Big Al. I showed it to ...

I have been into and out of woodworking since I was about 10 years old. Used to build a heck of a tree fort in the woods. Now, a husband and father of 2 I'm back into it. The web has opened up a whole new way for me to learn the craft that has gotten the better of me for a long time. I'll let you in on a little secret, I was never very good at woodworking; still not. But with all the videos out there, I can set my laptop on my table saw and watch a video of how to tune up my saw. I was never very good at applying what I read from a book into practice. Now with all these free videos, I can simply rewind and see it again.
I have always had a passion for wood like all of you and I'm glad I never let it go completely. Hopefully I will be able to tell some stories and share my projects with all of you. I'm mostly going to use this site to share with my family and friends. They have no idea what I do when I go to the shop so I thought I would let them in on all the fun.
BTW - I am a professional software developer / architect with about 13 years experiance. I hae been developing on the Microsoft Windows platform my entire career and had the privledge to work for Microsoft a few years back.
Married to the most beautiful person in the world, Suzanne and we share two perfect children, Christopher 6 and Corinne 3. I take the kids to the shop all the time now and they simply love it.
