I recently quit my job in high tech and moved to Ashland Oregon to pursue a different life. I've struggled a bit trying to figure out exactly what that life will look like, and have dabbled in a number of things.
I have a micro business doing in-salon sharpening of high-end hair shears (as well as a sharpening booth at the Ashland Growers Market where I mostly sharpen knives and garden clippers). But I've figured out that both of those lack the creativity I need and have been exploring woodworking as a possibility. I'm currently attending a 9 month course at the Center for Furniture Craftsmanship and will be heading back to Ashland in June 08.
After that, we'll see what comes up.

Yes, going to CFC has been great learning experience. I can’t say enough good things about them here. If you ever get the chance—do it, it will be worth it.
