After 4 years I decided my boxer dog, Raiden, needed a friend. After it was decided that his new friend would be a mastiff that could be 3 times (!!) his size, it seemed like a good idea to build them a dog house in the yard that would be big enough for both of them.
The project was started with some general dimensions in mind but from there was pretty much off the cuff. It is completed so I will do multiple posts as time permits to show the process.
Foundation: 2-3 inches deep of gravel. Leveled and packed down.
Platform: This is the under side of the platform. Foam insulation was used. The 4 cross-members are the ‘skids’ for the dog house to rest on.
Platform: Completed platform in its final resting spot on top of gravel
Framing: Initial frame for dog house. Has both door opening and window opening.
Roof & Interior Walls: The interior walls were put in place before the roofing framing was started
Roof Sheeting: Exterior walls and roof sheeting were applied next after the entire structure was insulated.
Next time I will post pictures with the roof panels trimmed to size, paint, start of trimming, and roofing.

(The doggies are already loving it)
