The Problem With Being a Woodworker and Drummer

The problem with being a woodworker and drummer is that I can’t work on woodworking while listening to music because of the compulsion to do everything to the beat.

Sometimes it works out great while hammering or sanding, if the tempo is right. Or I can pound or sand in triplets or whatever.

But other times, it can cause problems, especially if I try to cop the same rhythms or drum fills of the song. Not a problem with AC/DC, bit it can get downright dangerous if Rush comes on the radio. :-)

Mike,

I am a drummer, since infancy.
Something few really understand.

You’ve exploded real stuff and dreams.

Hot damn!

Actually, I wish you wouln’t bring it up.

Yeah, I play guitar. If I have the radio on while I’m working, I find myself playing air guitar, instead of woodworking!! Go figure!!

No Ms Debbie. You’re not in that much trouble.

I play the Trumpet. Try doing that while you’re feeding a 4’x8’x3/4” Sheet of G1S Fir Plywood through a Table Saw set for a 24” Rip!! One day the Blade almost got me right in my Mute!! ;-}

Wadda Bunch of Cornballs on this Great Site!! I Love it!!

Bang that drum. But do it quietly.
