I am the retired Xerox exec that has been working with Max on Brown Sugar. While I love fishing(that is a 22" largemouth bass I caught in Naples, Fl), I really love woodworking.
I have built clocks from kits for years...my first was Emperor's Model 110 Grandfather clock, which I started 2 weeks before my daughter was born in 1974 and finished 5 months later after I figured out how to be a good father! So when that same first born told me in Feb 08 that I had to see this amazing clock she and her husband saw at the Rochester Museum and Science Center, I went right down and saw it.
I was awestruck with the M3 and called Max whenI returned home.
The rest is well documented on Max's site. His genius is multi faceted...from creating concepts to engineering gears to visioning what woods works well with each other to intricate wood working to finsihing...the total package of skills and inspiration to make such a masterpiece.
And that is just the beginning, Max's life experiences and world view make for fantastic conversation and friendship. A family guy like no other and a patriot I am blessed to know.
Brown Sugar will be a Waters family heirloom celebrating our 40th anniversary like no other celebration before or yet to come. The kids are already lining up for inheritance rights!

Guys-Great to be on board. The nature of the many comments about Max’s Brown Sugar tell me a lot about the sincerity of all the LumberJocks. I am most pleased to be a part of the community.
Best wishes to all.
