no previous part Part 1 of Garden Bench series Part 2: Construction2 »

Hi folks. I decided about a month ago to start building a garden bench to replace a broken one that we bought from a shop near my place. Shop bought garden bench was cheap and flimsy. This is my progress so far.

I am nearly finished with the construction. Just the seat rails and Back slats and that’s it.

Front and Back legs are laminated because I didn’t have stock thick enough.

Wood is unknown, probably some sort of oak. Arms are probably red wood I think. All the timber is recycled from an old shed I tore down from a reno.

I am going to go for a walnut finish and try to blend everything together.

Great reuse of wood! Looks nice and I can’t wait to see the finish. :)
