I'm a new woodworker living in Bangkok. I got started in wood working in Jan 2009 once I got some space for a very small shop. I am currently learning my way by building some small items for the hair salon I own with my wife.

Thanks for the welcome everybody. This site has already been an inspiration to me and I am looking forward to learning a lot more from everybody here. I will soon be starting the finish on my first project which is a simple foot stool for our customers to rest their feet on while they are getting their hair done. I made some mistakes and it’s not perfect but hopefully I will learn and improve for the next one, I have at least 5 of them to make!

Hello,

I just noticed you are living in Thailand. My favorite country. I have traveled there maybe about 5-6 times now, also my cousin is living there. It must be really hot this time of the year, and maybe it’s hard to get good tools there, but I hope you enjoy woodworking there anyway.

Hi Junji. Yes it is hot at this time of the year but the rainy season just started so it is cooling down a little, it only hit 30C today which was nice. It is hard to find good tools here but a couple of stores do carry some imported tools from the UK, US and Japan which is nice.
