Here is the most recent load of logs that I bought. They are all velvet mesquite from the north west side of Tucson. Nothing big, most of the logs are 4-6 feet long 12-14 inches wide. I cut one of the logs right when I got to my mill to see the color of the wood. Mesquite color is usually different depending on the soil the tree came from. As you can see from the picture these logs will yield some red mesquite.

Beautiful wood. I just carved a fantastic piece of mesquite into a real nice gunstock. I need to get a big truck and make a road trip!
