These little ones have grown so fast,
the time spent with them just wouldn’t last.
They had to go, school and their jobs,
They said we’ve got work, gobs and gobs.
Days, and weeks have gone and passed,
I miss them so, then, I see them at last!
They ask me how I make these things,
I show them tools and sometimes string.
Grandpa lets play, and see your Shop,
then there we go… its never stop.
We talk, we sand, and cut the boards,
after nail and paint we have our reward.
Its not a show piece or castle we’ve built
But Love and Sharing that we’ve all felt.
Seeing their faces with smiles and so happy,
Grandpa is feeling sassy and snappy.
No tables and chairs nor real fine chests,
Just birdhouses and trinkets are always the best.
Cause, little hands have made my heart sing,
I’m Blessed with Grandkids, such happiness it brings.
So if you have time to share with a child,
You’ll never regret and they’ll bring you Big smiles.
Open you heart and your shop door to them,
And, remember, a Carpenter was born in Bethlehem.
