Recommended nail guns for fence panels and siding (1 3/4" Max Length nails) - 11 replies

Anyone out there have any recommendations for a pneumatic nail gun for constructing fence panels and nailing siding. I have several Porter Cable nail guns (framing and finish nailers) which have given good service. Porter Cable has a coil magazine roofing nail gun which I assume can be used for fencing and siding. I’m just looking for some...

Table Saw "Blade Raising Mechanism" Jamed - 13 replies

I have an older model Craftsman table saw built by Emerson Electric. The model # is 113.298031. The casting that houses the blade arbor rotates around a shaft on a fixed casting as the blade is raised or lowered by a rack and pinion mechanism. The casting housing the blade arbor is “frozen” on the shaft and will not allow the blade t...

Installing Can Lights in Kitchen Ceiling - 8 replies

I have a project to install several “can” lights in a kitchen ceiling. I am using a 6 inch + hole saw to cut the holes. The ceiling is sheeted with 1×4 tongue and grove pine and covered with ceiling tile. The hole saw is too large to use a standard 1/2 inch drill to cut the holes for the can lights. What type of drill should I u...

Review of Multitool Woodworking Tools - 29 replies

I am in the market for “one” of the brands of multitool woodworking tools. I have looked a Dremels, Rockwells, Porter Cables and have read the reviews on the Internet. Hole Saw for easy installation of recessed can lights - 10 replies

I am in the process of a remodeling project that involves the installation of several recessed (in the ceiling) can lights. The lights are listed as 6 inch lights, but the size of the hole you have to cut to install the light can is approximately 6 and 1/4 inches. Are hole cutting saws available in this size? Most of the hardware stores I have v...

Bolt size for Attaching Fence to Delta Bandsaw - 5 replies

I have a 14” Delta bandsaw model # 28-275. I need to know the bolt size and threads/inch that holds the fence guides to the table. The bolt size appears to be 1/4 inch but I don’t know if the threads are course or fine. I guess my only choice is to buy 4 bolts of each (course/fine).Thanks.

Rip Fence for Delta 14" Band Saw - 3 replies

I have recently purchased an older Delta band saw (American Made) and would like to add a rip fence. I have located two sources, on line, for fences that will fit my saw. The first at Mikes Tools is a Delta brand with a “clamping” design clamping to a steel angle on the front and back of the band saw table. The second design is a Kre...
