« Part 3: So darn close... Part 4 of Accu-Head Helical Head Replacement series no next part

I’m a little slow when it comes to my own personal projects but when your planer is in pieces and the weather is getting warmer it’s time to act. Once the temperature in the “shop” got above 70 I was able to slide the new cutter head into place and get to work reassembling the planer. The chains for the roller gears were tons of fun let me tell you….

I posted a full review in the review section but I have to say I’m VERY pleased with the upgrade. Quieter, smoother cutting and the ability to take much larger cuts makes this a dream in a small bench top planer. My little Ryobi is now a truly useful tool in my arsenal and I can plane all this curly maple I have without fear of tearing it to pieces.

In fact, I think I’ll be starting that process today and see how much saw dust I can make turning this rough cut maple into something usable.
