Dexter was born Thursday evening at McMaster Children’s Hospital, in Hamilton!

I’m ecstatic, so I wanted to share.

Here’s the latest built in. Birch with a nightmare of a layered finish.

A bowl made of apple, that looks a bit like an apple. The lid is beech. PolyShades finish

It’s too bad the room was to small to fit the whole thing in one pic.

Cabinet was solid poplar, 8’ high x 8’ wide.

It’s a simple cabinet, western red with bamboo panels. Kind of a neat design by my client.

I got some turning tools for Christmas from my Parents. Started out with some bowls out of apple, and a vase from cedar.

The apple is from the farm where I grew up- my own personal burl supply now!

The cedar was left over from a deck we built last summer.

I have been a woodworker in some form for most of my life. When I was a bachelor, living in apartments, I liquidated most of my machinery. This stool was one of the first projects that I built while setting up shop in our house. The only power tool used on this baby was a circular saw to rough out the planks.

The joints are all mortise & tenon, and the seat is leather with a pine frame. (I could only afford a small piece of leather)

The finish is Varathane Crystal finish urethane.
