A Great Breakfast
Rita and I had a great breakfast and visit with Dave Mitchell and his wife. They are passing through Billings and stayed at the campgrounds down the street since they are pulling their little camp trailer.
We had a nice visit last night. I gave him the shop tour and showed the few pieces that we have been able to keep over the years.
Now they have left it is time to get back on this little project for Rita.

Welcome.Where do I start, at the beginning I suppose, I was born at an …..sorry not that far back!Ok let do this. [ I will be using imperial measurements throughout this blog..mainly ‘cause all wood working should be in imperial not metric! IMHO anyway]

This was requested from multiple sites, so I did one for everybody.
Here’s some photos of my process;I only had enough time to do a two-ring knot, but it’sall the same to make a four-ring knot accurately if you follow these steps.
This shows the miter sled, the length of contrasting wood for the slices, and the bloodwood blank I’m going to use.

Well I was working on building the deck and I kept saying. Take some pictures. But, it didn’t get done. These pictures are from before putting on the deck surface.
The deck is placed just outside a small deck that goes between the screened porch and the Solarium. We have a spa in the Solarium room.
The deck is basically 16’ X 16’. It’s 14 feet to the beginning of the curved edge. One end is tapered to match the sidewalk that goes around the house.
