I'm now retired, served my time as a Patternmaker before going over to construction, for expedience really, many foundries were closing down, Patternmaking was regarded as too skilled (read that as too costly) and computer aided machines were on there way. Oh the indignity! to be replaced by mere machines...OCH MAN...I far more controlled and acceptant these days *^b%**, anyway as I was saying - oh yes! I went on to have a very colourful career - Joiner'ing, managing, became a senior executive salesman and finally achieved a Masters Degree in sustainability in the built environment...Whew! what a busy bloke (chap)
I've had my own companies, roofing, joiners and a battery repair business and run a food shopie (store)
I'm a robust Mr Fixit, no doubt due to my Scot's upbringing (thrifty) and my ability to fix most tactile things, my Patternmaking brain lends me to look at things somewhat differently from most people...if it's bean made it can be fixed, just depends on the condition and worth of any object.
I suppose that just about sums me up really, hope to get some questions answered and contribute my experiences as well.
