I’ve been meaning to make one of these calipers for a while, and a bunch of lumberjocks really helped me figure it out. Phi, the Golden Ratio, is an absolutely fascinating subject. If you would like to make your own gauge, download Mark's plans here.

Handcrafted Wooden Rings

I received a couple of comments with regards to how I build the wooden rings in my gallery, so I thought this would be a good place to share a bit about my process. This will not be the best-worded blog entry. Well, I was asked to put together a blog on how I made my segmentd ring. Sometimes its just plain fun to do a quick and satisfying project.
