As a long time rocker, it seemed only appropriate to marry my 2 passions when it finally came time to revamp the pedalboard. I decided to do a wedge shaped “container” with a 1/2” plexiglass board to mount the equipment on. I wanted to make this this thing a little fancy, so I chose tiger maple and plan on dying it black, and finishing with a high gloss poly to look similar to a guitar finish. The stock that I purchased is 4/4 and through the great suggestions of my fellow LJ’s I decided to resaw it down to 5/8” and save the remainder for something else. I don’t have a bandsaw, so I did as much of the resaw as posible on the table saw and finished it with a Dozuki saw. After that, I hand planed the pieces to their final thickness. So far so good. I’m hoping to make more progress next weekend, but here’s some photos of the progress:

It’s a lot cleaner than the one I’m replacing. I finally reached my limit and had to get this thing retired:

Have your say...
