50 posts in 863 days Location: Dallas, TX I grew up as the son of a construction company owner and licensed general contractor, so I did a lot of rough carpentry and sheetrock work. I since grew up and now work in the technology field as a web developer. I bought my first home a couple of years ago and immediately demoed and remodeled the entire thing. I bought my first table saw during this project and by the time the master bathroom was ready to finish out, I decided to build a custom vanity. This gave me a taste for doing finish carpentry and woodworking, and now I'm hooked. I've done a few small projects including an easel and some butcher blocks made of hard maple and African mahogany. Due to size restrictions of my shop I do not have a power planer or jointer, so a few months ago I acquired my first hand plane. I am the proud owner of about 10 of them. They are fascinating and beautiful tools, and make me feel like a real woodworker when I use them. That's about the most of it. I'm currently working on a couple of ratcheting candlesticks and I know I'll find something after that. Latest Activity | view all »
