I just got a Powermatic 64a from a liquidator outlet for $680. As you know it doesn’t have a riving knife or a tool free blade guard. I also just learned that Powermatic will come out with a 64B Next Month (March 2012) with those things and other add on’s.
My question is should I return it/resell it and wait till the new one comes out (or get a SawStop) at twice the cost?

Since the basic saw is over $1000 in most cases, I would wait until the B comes out and check to see if the
new accessories will bolt onto your A model then you would have the same unit for a lot less money.

I asked about that and they said the new riving knife and other safety accessories won’t work.

Blasphamy to sell it, Safety is over rated. Sarcasm out of the way, why seel it, if it was good enough to buy then its good enough to keep. I have a model 70, 1958 very little in the way of safety features. I’ll keep this one for a life time.
