Location: Pollock Pines, CA
Website: http://majesticeagleww.etsy.com/

I was born, raised and have lived in California all my life, but have been fortunate enough through all those years to have had the opportunity to see and visit every state in the union. Such a beautiful country!!! Fortunately my second hobby is photography.
I worked for IBM for 35 years and retired in 2000 to Santa Rosa, Ca., just north of San Francisco.
That is where my woodworking "part time hobby of 35 years" started to take the wonderful turn to "full time hobby". I built up my shop equipment from a Shopsmith to a two car garage shop with much better equipment. After kind of finding my "niche" in what I wanted to make , my wife and I had the opportunity to move to the higher foothills, east of Sacramento, to Pollock Pines.
FINALLY, I was able to have a "REAL" woodshop !!!
I have started my business called "Majestic Eagle Woodworks". The name came from the fact that I am totally fascinated by the eagles I saw while in Alaska, their size, grace, power, and sheer "Majesty"........
I specialize mostly in custom Jewelry boxes, Tea boxes and Keepsake boxes. I also enjoy making custom Money clips, Hair sticks/forks and Humidors. Some of my past work can be seen not only here as a project but also at my flickr site gallery:

My work that is currently available can be purchase at:

Thank you and Enjoy !

What a great site and just tons of absolutely wonderful information and project ideas. I am sure I will be spending many hours enjoying and learning.

Wow, this is just plain ADDICTING !!!!!!!

I have been searching all around the site now for 6 hours and just cannot believe the wealth of information, the talent, and the great people out there willing to help and voice their opinion.

Being new to LJ’s, I plan on spending many more hours here, ( I should be in my woodshop ) , but I think the time will be well spent.

I have gotten tips on improving my jewelry boxes, tips on how to start a website, safety tips, etc…........
there is not end…........................

Loof forward to talking with many of you out there and hope to post a project or two in the next few days.

Much thanks to all of you for your wonderful comments and such a warm welcome.

I’ve been kind of busy lately with Xmas coming and all, ( I’m sure your all are as well ) but I will try to post
a few more projects in the next week or so.

This is the absolutely most wonderful site on the internet !!!!! ( NO BULL ) I can’t believe how much informations I have gleaned from it since I have joined. I just hope in the future I can provide some information that might be helpful to others as well.

Happy holidays to all !!!!

Gene, Looks like we have a similar passion for nice wood. Love your boxes. I have recently begun to build them myself. Maybe I’ll steal your ideas if you don’t mind. I had already checked your stuff out before I joined.

Kent, thanks for the compliment and yes, we do love our “nice wood”.
You are more than welcome to any ideas that I display, most of them are not my “original” ideas, but
more or less take offs in part from other designs, with my own little twist.

Enjoy and look forward to seeing more of your work.
