This was made for Grate-grandson’s Christmas. It was made from scrap wood left over from a lot of other projects. The only thing I had to buy was the hinges and knobs. It is mostly 1/4” oak plywood, and red oak. The drawers are 3/4” poplar on the sides, 1/2” plywood front and back, and 1/4” plywood bottom. The drawer pulls are painted oak. All of the oak showing is stained “Golden Oak” and everything else is painted with gray tinted primer. there are 2 coats of Poly over everything. The overall measurements are 28” high X 22” wide X 19” deep.

I have 6 Great Grand Daughters, The oldest started to kindergarten this year. I am making them each a doll cradle. My Wife (Heidi) Took the fall offs from the cradles and made these “Bill Holders” for Christmas presents. She sure has an imagination, and they didn’t turn out to bad.

The Cradles are 18” long X 16” Wide X 15” High, made of 1/2” Baltic birch and painted Brown. Heidi bought dolls at the dollar store and I had to fit the cradles to them. I still have 3 more to make (almost done) should make it by Christmas. But I have one Great Grandson that I must make a “DVD Knight Stand” for by Christmas. I haven’t even started on it yet. Well that is not quite true, I have made preliminary plans, but Heidi has already marked them up for modification.

The last picture shows some cheap clips made from scraps that hold the top on. This allows the top to expand and contract with out splitting. I had some doubts about finishing before Christmas because of all the other projects that kept popping up that needed attending to.

I cut these out of 1/8” birch plywood, with 1/4” birch background. The frames are made of mahogany and red oak, scrap laying around the shop. I used aniline dye for the silhouettes and backgrounds. The pictures measure approx, 12 1/2” X 10 1/2”. I still have more to do. Nice to have a large family.

The cutting boards are laminated 1/4 sawn maple with black walnut splines and walnut dowls.

I am the only one in my shop so I made this plywood tote. It folds up and is easly stored. When it is rolled up as in the 2nd photo it is the same height as my table saw. I need to make the lip on the front out of larger angle iron as the thin piece of angle is just not sturdy enough.

The flags display was made for a friend. It was a fun project.

Settee and End Table for Daughter

The settee and tables are of the same wood (4/4 1/4 sawn white oak). The settee has 2 front to back stretchers that are sliding dovetailed into the front and back aprons. This was done to make sure the aprons did not spread. Like the chairs shown earlier my daughter made all of the cushions. Note: My daughter paid for the wood.
