i have been making Marquetry pictures for over 25 years and am mostly self taught, help from a master cabinetmaker from England. I have recently retired from the Canadian Navy and have my own shop in my basement. i have over 40 different species of veneer, some i bought back when i started. i like to make portraits, landscapes and birds and flowers, especially on the top of jewellry boxes.

Hey Steve, welcome to LJ’s. Great group of people here and I’ve found it to be an incredible source of help, advice and inspiration (fancy word for “I’m going to copy what that guy built”). Thanks for the 20” planer offer, I’ll keep it in mind in should the need arise. Your inlay and marquetry skills are incredible, I look forward to seeing more.
