MaFe on tour…
My mother was kind to invite my daughter Mathilde and I, for a Little two days tour to Malmö Sweden, to celebrate Easter.
Living in Copenhagen Denmark it is no more than a small drive by car, so we set of in the morning and were there less than two hours later, after having crossed the bridge that now connects our two countries.
We spend two good days, but I will not tire you with the family album, just share some of what inspired me.
First we visited Malmö hus museum .
They have some amazing paintings, they would have been worth the whole trip.
But yes also wood was presented there, have to admit this one impressed my a wee.
Such beauty in the work, material and motif.
I did not write down names of carpenters or painters, sorry, when I took the pictures I was not thinking to share them, it was just for my memory.
Curves of raw beauty.
Can a handle become more elegant than this?
I can see Japanese flowers.
Stilleben.
With opening mechanism.
Curves and colors.
Simply elegant, elegantly simple.
Quiet perfection.
How can I put words on this.
My sweet Mathilde drawing, my daughter talks about walking my food steps as an architect, so she is training her drawing skills.
Not a easy task to draw, so I am proud to see her result.
Guess who?
One of my favorite paintings, it has to me a calmness, a Scandinavian quietness I think reflects it's time.
Wohhooo
This is brilliant. Gerald Summers 1934.
(Info: Did you know: Isaac I. Cole (American). Patent Model for One-piece Plywood Chair. Date: 1873).
Perfection.
Rhythm.
Less is more with a twist.
Nice legs!
In the hands of an artist, more can become less.
More is more.
Simple living with a twist.
Notice the arm rests.
King to queen.
Something to think about.
Simple game box.
King sized furniture.
I did say it!
(Don't know the people on the pic, but now I have evidence they touched the museum pieces, so perhaps I should send the picture to Malmö museum… lol.
I think I know a few LJ's that will enjoy a few of these.
Love'n wood.
Love the simplicity in this one.
All can become a lot of nothing.
Fire in wood.
Take off.
This is just so awesome!
I love every detail.
Also the wooden wheels.
MaFe's?
The Castle museum.
Turning torso of Malmö.
Looks like rising from the ashes.
Important!
Most of all, due to this guys smile.
City walk.
Also visited Malmö modern museum, but no wood here…
Mathilde took this picture of her father taking a rest against a wall down town before we were going back to Denmark, wonder if it was a lotto ticket on the ground…
Thank you for joining me for this little Malmö tour.
The best of my thoughts,
Mads
