Tool marking punch
a gift from a fine friend

I was so lucky to get a gift from my good friend and fellow enjoyer of beauty Flemming.
Flemming visit my shop once or twice a week, for a cup of coffee and often long talks about life.
One day he asked me to open my hand and put this gift in it.
He had gotten my MaFe logo engraved into a punch, so I can mark my metal makings, tools, knifes and much more this way.

Here it is, hardened steel.
I guess it must be lazer engraved.

I made a holder for it, to be able to find it and for protection.

Just a simple piece of leather with two cuts.

So it could fit in.

Here you see it punched into leather.

And here into not yet hardened steel.

It do give a extra dimension to the work and once I am gone perhaps, just perhaps, someone will say; ‘ahh that’s a MaFe’.

Thank you my dear friend Flemming, I feel lucky and blessed to have a friend like you, in so many ways.

Perhaps this can inspire others to mark their tools.

Best thoughts,

Mads

I am sure they will recognise your work mate, but don’t think of going too soon, you and I have to catch up over a coffee before then!
What a great gift.

A remarkable gift, must be a very good friend! Your quite fortunate Mafe and it should make your beautiful work even more distinctive.

That’s a wonderful gift that Flemming gave you. It will add a bit of you to each item that you create.
Use it with pride. ;)

I agree with all the above but just wanted to say I really like your logo. I’ve done some logo design for myself and others and the right balance of simplicity and “art” is always tricky. Yours is perfect.
