Hello All. Thanks for the welcome. It has been a while since I signed on, so this will be my first post. I have an Old Wooden Carpenters Tool Chest from the late 1800's, to the early 1900's. This box was full of top quality, and very well kept tools. He worked out of the San Francisco area, and many of his tools were purchased from Baker & Hamilton Hardware. This was the largest harware store on the West Coast, from the begining of the Gold Rush. "My question is this": I think one of his tool boxes was store bought, and wonder if any members have any "Key Names" of such Manufactured Boxes during this time frame? I wish I could post a picture, but it seems your site will not allow me to just brouse my collection on my computer, and upload it? Or will it? If it will, please tell me how to do it.
PS: I have been told that most carpenters built their own boxes to show their craft, but I also see in many old catalogs, that boxes such as his were manufactured and sold.
Thanks Again
