Chisel Rack #3: The posts
The posts are tapered and have two slots to accept the base. The slots were cut at the table saw and squared with the 1/8” chisel. Brandon, I haven’t yet made a bench to go on the bench on top of the bench but I did make a small bench hook for it :^) Next, I tapered the posts using a technique similar to the one Jameel used for the dovetails on the Roubo bench. In this case it is just a spacer with double stick tape. After the band saw cut they were smoothed with a #4 1/2. As expected the left M&T joint was loose form the undercut but not bad. I could saw and wedge the tenon or just glue a tiny spacer underneath as shown. So, this ...
