I’ve been using open shelving units hung on my shed walls for years because I have issues with creepy crawlies, but I’m wanting something to store smaller items in that is more compact. I also wanted to try out the $5 track saw I made from an old circular saw. (PS: it works GREAT)
I started off by building a cabinet from 18mm plywood: 668w x 865h x 750d. The 668 may seem an odd dimension but it allows me to make the drawer bases from a 12mm plywood sheet ripped down the middle.
I put the drawer slides on before I put the case together. I should get 2 drawers 50mm deep, 4 drawers 80mm deep and 1 drawer 180mm deep.
To top it off, I put on a piece of melamine sheet that was about the right size.
It rolls pretty well on my uneven floor.
Next time I’ll get started on the drawers
