Lumberjocks adding commercial hot links into the project discriptions

Lumberjocks has imbedded commercial hot links into our project descriptions. Now every time I click on a project my Anti-Malware software gives me a pop-up window with a corrupt website warnings. I also get pop-up windows saying my media player needs to be updated, or that my windows drivers need to be updated, but I know that isn’t the case. This is the only site in which this is happening and it started when LJ installed the hot links to the project descriptions. Is anyone else experiencing these problems? I have several layers of security software on my computer and I have run diagnostics on all of them.

Are you logged on. I am not seeing anything you are talking about. I logged off then came back to the site. I see the hot links then. Once I log on I see nothing.

Lee – I’ve had the same problems, seemed to get better recently, but still happens. For me I though I got rid of them by signing in, but it didn’t get rid of all of them. Have had the media player thing too, but only on this site.
Frustrating.

Norton’s not complaining. Good luck.

Make sure you are logged in. If not, you will see the hot links.

Yes, I’ve been getting the Driver requires 14 updates which leads to a Norton site for almost two months and didn;t know what was causing the warning but now I know. Also an ad for learning a language in ten days or less.

hot links sounds like something I would put on my barbecue pit…I do not see them either on my browser. I think being logged in is the answer.

Bruce, Bill, I stay logged in to Lumberjocks. When I click into the LJ site my homepage and avitar are there. I don’t ever log out. Let me try logging out and then in again.

This came up several weeks ago—turns out those links in projects when you’re not logged in have been on the site for years—it’s not a new “feature.” Can’t say what is going on with Lee, but for everyone else who’s tried, they only show up when not logged in. I just checked and that’s the way it is for me.

a1Jim, I do not have Adblock on my computer. I am running the latest version of Firefox.

Charles, I read that blog or forum topic a couple of weeks ago, but I am logged in to LJ. I tried logging out and then back in but it is still happening.

I wish I had the answers, then. Very odd.

Wow, everything is back to normal and I can’t explain why. Is there a computer god our there somewhere?

Yes. Sacrifice a piece of your best figured wood in thanksgiving. Computer gods like the smell of burning wood.

I run Adblock Plus & Firefox 100% of the time when online. It’s a mental lifesaver for me from all of the popups/commercial B/$ that tries to invade my web browsing and distract me from the job at hand.

I highly recommend it.
