Location: Matthews (Charlotte), NC

I love to create, carve and build things. For the last decade, returning to school took all my time and killed my artistic creativity. However, at 49, the urge to create once again became an undeniable driving force.

Had a vast amount of art training as a child to young adult and used to paint in oil extensively. When that got boring I switched to carving, which I love much more than drawing or painting. Originally from Nashville, TN, as an adult was blessed to live for several years in the Tetons, Jackson Hole, Wyoming. This experience fueled my passion for woodworking/carving and I'm so happy to be able to pursue carving once again, even if it's here in Charlotte, NC.

My dream is to have a cabin in the mountains where my creative loved ones and I can create to our hearts content.

Although I have an Info. Systems degree in networking and B.S. in business administration, I'd much rather be building, remodeling, woodworking, or carving than anything else. (The business degree was a way to add heft and another knowledge set from an economic perspective to my creative ideas.)

Guess my greatest passion is for learning, and I expect to do a lot of that on LJ!

Welcome to Lumber Jocks! This is a great place to get – or give – advice about woodworking on the forums and the project posts are a wonderful source of new ideas. I look forward to seeing your projects and posts.

To get the most feedback on your projects, it’s best to only post 1 or 2 at a time. This way you will get feedback over several days and from a wide variety of members.

Please enjoy your membership.

Welcome. You have found the right place for woodworking. A great group of people willing to help. Looking forward to see your projects and comments. Work safe in the shop and don’t forget to use pushsticks.

Hi there,
Welcome to LumberJocks… I joined the site myself a few months ago and will give you fair warning, this site is VERY ADDICTIVE, VERY EDUCATIONAL, and VERY FUN…. so sit back, enjoy the ride and learn from the other LJ’s as they are a group of extremely talented people that are also very friendly…

Enjoy your time here on LJ and pass the word to any of your woodworking buddies about us…
