10 posts in 1527 days Location: Rantoul, IL (Near Champaign-Urbana) I am a graduate student working on finishing up a PhD at the University of Illinois. My wife and I thought it would be fun to buy an old house and fix it up while we spent six years in the area (insert altruistic joke here). Pretty much all of the men in my family have really nice woodshops (except my father who owned a autobody shop) but I never got the bug until I bought this old farm house and found out that you need certain woodworking skills to work on old homes. My obsession pretty much grew from there. I am not the most skilled woodworker, but hope to get better as time goes on and learn from my grandfather, uncle, friends and the experienced community here. Latest Activity
