I am a 67 year old who lives in Kingwood, TX, just north of Houston. I have been married to my wife, Sherry for 44 years this May 19th. I have 2 grown children, a boy and a girl and they have blessed me with 7 grandchildren. In the first part of my adult life I spent 28 years in the Houston Fire Department, retiring in 1996 (went in when I was 18). I then moved to Dallas where I worked for a vending company for two years. Moving back to Houston in 1998, I became employed by a large national home builder as a Construction Manager. I was soon promoted to the Quality Assurance Manager, the Director of Quality Initiatives, then to Product Development Manager and now my title is Project Manager. As you can see, in my 19 years (this coming May 19 - Yes, same as my wedding anniversary) with the company I have done a little bit of everything. In my current role, I manage a 65,000 SF office building that houses our Houston Homebuilding Division, Land Developer, Corporate Communications Division, Title Company and Mortgage Company. I also am a certified Residential Code Inspector (ICC), handle all of our OSHA issues, train our Construction Managers and act as liaison to all of our outside Code Inspection entities. I wrote and maintain our Construction Manual, as well as the Scopes of Work for all of our trades. I generally say that my job description involves anything anyone can't do, won't do or doesn't know how to do. The current plan is to work until I'm 70 if the health holds out.

I love woodworking and problem solving. I don't get to do nearly as much as I would like to. I am struggling to get my shop organized and de-cluttered. You can't cuss a cat in there without getting fur in your mouth right now. I do most of my work in pine. I will post some of my past projects for your review. I was looking for router bit cabinets when I found lumberjocks and I'm glad I did.
