What Lubricant To Use - 5 replies

About to reassemble cast iron trunion and arbor on my 4511. Everything is clean, rust removed and 3 coats of black Rustoleum applied. What should I use to lubricate all the metal-on-metal machined areas and the worm gears? Also, when I replace the sealed arbor bearings on the arbor shaft is any lubricant required in this area?

Arbor Shaft Bearings - 8 replies

Ok. I am reassembling my 4511. Best I can tell the saw is 2 to 2.5 years old. No apparent problems with arbor shaft bearings. However, since I have the saw apart, do I leave well enough alone or replace the two bearings as preventative maintenance while I have the opportunity??

Used Powermatic 66's - 11 replies

OK. I am seeing a lot of high quality Powermatic 66’s out there on CL from about $800 to $1100 greenbacks. The problem is that they are all 3-phase. What would be my out-of-pocket cost to change one of these over to single phase?? Is it even doable?? Is “doable” really a word??
