Well, the neck was a very long process due to all the different components that went into it so I’ve split it up into two different entries.

First, I started out with a large piece of mahogany.

After breaking out stock, I traced a thin neck pattern onto the mahogany twice, and cut it out on the bandsaw. I also did the same thing to a thin piece of birch so that I could have an accent strip in the neck.

I then attached two gorgeous pieces of wood. A pre-cut rosewood fingerboard, and a tiger maple faceplate

Laying out a design I created for my headstock. Very similar to the Gibson headstock design

-- There's nothing like the feel of a wood shop.
