I just got this router. So I’ll likely update info as I get more familiar. I noticed there are not many reviews for this new model from Makita so we need one on LJ. Amazon offered a really low sale price on this for Black Friday. It was $100 less than the sale price here in Canada. Being 10 minutes from Detroit, I had it shipped there and even got free shipping from Amazon. To my horror, Amazon didn’t pack it. They shipped the router in its own box – unsealed. This actually works. I cannot add much that isnt covered in the youtube videos Carter has up. I was 50/50 on buying it as I thought it may be hype. But it works great. I cut some amazing curves with it and now think it wasnt that expensive after all. OK for $80 it is expensive. Hopefully the bearing is a good one and I would assume it must be as its constantly engaged with the blade. Check out the promo vids Carter has. I am not affiliated at all. This has been nothing but a $700 paperweight. The Sandflee is an expensive unit compared to the model the inventor in Canada sells. However its made of steel and looks more of a real shop fixture. So I bought it. The build looked good out of the box. Very simple metal box. What they do not tell you is you really need to mount this to a bench. The unit is not something you could move on and off the bench as the motor to box connection is not solid. They call it the “portable 18” drum san...
