Yo whats up everybody I have pretty much spent 5 hours sanding today. Usually I sand for about hour and a half and take a 30 minute break then go back out. I have already had to clean out the filter on the shop vac before I get started again and I was just asking does anybody know if the brand shop vac make bags to put in your shop vac because this thing clogges up and it takes 10 minutes to clean out the paper filter

Shop vac does indeed make bags for their vacuums. It depends on the model/size of your shop vac, but you should be able to find them online fairly easily. Here’s a link to an amazon search for shop vac bags –

I think it’s funny how the one time you really really need your shop vac is when you’re cleaning out the filter and can’t use it. Bags definitely help, although they aren’t a perfect solution, they’ll keep that sucker sucking longer than without a bag.

You should REALLY consider a pre separator, like a Mini Gorilla, or the DIY approach of a Thien Cyclone. Do a Google Search for Thien Cyclone and you will come up with some good results.

I clean my HEPA filter on my Ridgid Shop vac once every 6 months or so… (About every 3rd emptying of the dust bin). And yeah, my Ridgid Oscillating sander, and hand held sanders tend to be the problem devices…
