« Part 5: drawer and knob Part 6 of Gracie lectern series Part 7: fighter progress »

After posting Sandy I was hard pressed to post here again. I didn’t think posting a funny project among “friends” was such a big deal but apparently some people just can’t have it. But that’s the kind of forum I have enjoyed for almost 2 years, and now with so many people, can’t.
Never the less, I started this project here and figure that I should, for my true buddies here, post the progress until the project is done. I will also post the Jewelry box Heidi carved the rose for, as she had mentioned us doing so.
This is the start to a sparring match between two fighters, and so far, has taken about 6 or so hours. I expect to have at least 18 more hours before completing this part of the project. Then it will be on to the finishing stages, which means a ton of sanding. It’s a shame there isn’t a little sanding fairy that takes care of that at night while we are all sound asleep. Maybe if I hadn’t have thrown away Sandy she would have taken care of that for me. LOL.

As always I welcome constructive criticism, positive or negative.

Keith:
Sorry I missed Sandy. sounds like it may have been mind expanding. Anyway, thanks for continuing to post here. There are some of us who would miss you if you went away. You do good work and I enjoy looking at it, even if it makes me a bit envious of your skill. Looking forward to seeing these fighters progress.

I thought Sandy was funny.
Hope my ‘take up drinking’ comment didn’t bend you the wrong way, not my intent:)
The skills involved in marquetry intrigue me so I will happily follow along here.

Hi there,
Happy you are here, and what a comeback!
I almost miss sandy, and she brought some people here to a closer relation, even some buddys was made after.
I think it’s important in a forum like this, that we sometimes take a little ‘fight’, and I think it’s wonderful when it ends out as a better and more tolerant place.
Think we all learned from Sandy, so she is kind of a legend.
So happy to see you,
beautiful project.

Don’t let the critics get you down Keith. There’s plenty more that admire your work.
