no previous part Part 1 of Neals Plane series Part 2: Found a name »

This morning I took my brother to work and after dropping him off I left reletively quickly. My co-worker (my brother works with me) was there working some overtime and was helping the finisher. He is also a very good friend, and is the same friend I made the Topamax Challenge box for. Anyhow, I drove away and got a call as I hit the first light. “Keith you have to turn around and come back her, I have something for you” he said. So I drove around the block and came back. As I was getting close to the turnoff into the shop he ran across the road holding something up under his coat. I stopped in the middle of the street and he looked around like he as handing off some drugs. LOL. He handed it to me and ran around the front of the truck waiving. He’s crazy!
I had invited him over the night before to have dinner and a beer with us. I showed him the plane I restored and he had mentioned having one. I never thought he would give it to me. But he did. Even though it’s another no name, it’s still a very kind gesture, and It’s very much appreciated. It also has all the right parts, and has a frog. The one I just finished didn’t have the right blade or chip breaker, and the frog was stationary. Essentially I have to buy a blade and chip breaker to make it work, or find one that isn’t worth restoring to salvage the parts. This new one will be a very nice plane once restored. It doesn’t have a handle, but I was going to replace the handle and knob no matter what.
So here it is. My gift of the day. It’s nice to have good friends. ;-)
