The person who is receiving this box is a skateboard enthusiast, and at 54 years young he’s pretty good at it. So I decided to make it a bit more person specific and added a skateboarder and his shadow. I’m pretty positive quite a few of you won’t like or appreciate the design or the fact that I put this on such a cool box, but it’s perfect for who it’s for. He’s going to love it, and that matters the most. There’s still quite a bit of work left on this box.
The skateboarder is made out of Texas Ebony, with at walnut shadow.
As always I welcome constructive criticism, positive or negative.

People would take exception to the inlay? Really? If an item is for a client or relative then any personalization that doesn’t effect the structural integrity and that is in good taste is a good thing isn’t it?
I like it. and your inlay is a cool way of being distinctive. I’m 54 and I’d like it if I was into the same sport.

WOW!! From me! That’s outrageous man! The shadow is a killer, I mean that in a good way. Nailed it!

Keith, I thought this looked pretty good before but the inlay adds an interesting detail to the box. And I am sure the recipient will love it since you have personalized the box specifically for him.

Keith, this is another great build. The inlay will personalize the box for the recipient. Very smooth.

The woods go very well together and the inlay looks perfect. Love the shadow detail. Can’t wait to see more…
