Just finished a toy box for a niece. Has two coats of satin white enamel on it. SWMBO is gonna paint some “girly” stuff on it. Should I add a clear top coat? If yes, what? Thanks

Met Rob Cosman saw new plane - 11 replies

Met Mr. Cosman at the Indianapolis Woodcraft yesterday afternoon. I had no idea that he was going to be there. I watched him take a 4 1/2 out of the box spend less than five minutes on a little fettling. Another minute on honing and then he took a full width solid shaving 0.0002 thick from a 2 in wide piece of very curly maple. Kinda impress...

You have to plow a groove 3/8 in from the edge of a 2 in wide board. How do you hold i for working with the plow plane?

Help with small project ideas. - 5 replies

I want to help a mission in rural Appalachia by making small projects that they can sell in their gift shop. Need to sell for less than $50. Hand tool made. I have done cross necklaces. I have thought of pencil boxes. Other ideas would be greatly appreciated. I have quite a bit of cherry lumber that was given to me for this purpose. Thanks
