I needed something to hold my state quarter collection so i got this ideal from Rockler. Its just several pieces of pecan and i used a Epilog Laser to engrave the map onto it. Then with a quarter forstner bit i drilled the holes and glued in the quarters. Its not completely finished i still want to put a coat of EnviroTex over it just to make sure no one can take the quarters lol.

I liked the idea too much so i had to steal it from my teacher. The numbers are actual state quarters. Placed 1st at TSA state competition. Full state quarter map coming soon!

My first big project it won a best in state at the Texas TSA state competition so i’m really happy :) I got the plans from rockler along with all the hardware. I used red oak with walnut “straps” and corner guards. The finish is just a spray on krylon clear lacquer.
