I don’t have my own workshop yet! I am currently working in the UCOL furniture workshop in Palmerston North, New Zealand. I will be lost when I have to leave all these wonderful machines and lovely timber racks…

Some pics from today Thurs 11 Jun 09: – yours truly with one of my current projects, a 16-drawer office storage unit. Case is construction ply, internals are saligna (fronts) and pine (internals). The unit consists of three pieces which will fold closed to show only ply for transport. Will add as a project once finished.
- Andyboy’s (tutor) bench… I didn’t give him any warning… On the left is our current class project, on the right is the beginnings of set-out and sizing for our next which will be an entertainment unit.
- Some of the tallboys, mine on the right. All I seem to do these days is make and fit drawers… One of the finished hall tables (previous project) in the foreground – we get plenty of chance to customise our pieces.
- The bun feet for the tallboy which still amuse the heck out of me. Andyboy said to make them pear shaped so I did. Is turning where the expression ‘turning out pear-shaped’ comes from? AKA ‘turning to custard’.

I agree with Ken. Pictures of your work shop would be a real treat.

I got one of my tutors signed up to LJ’s yesterday – Andyboy is his handle – it’s really his workshop, so if you hassle us both than one of us will get around to getting some pictures up (just don’t tell him I told you to ;-)

Looks like you are building really nice furniture. Looking forward to see the finished products.
