It was bound to happen at some point. Not even I can escape the wood gods cruel joke. Here I was almost done with my latest project, I was real proud of myself for the way it was coming out, considering the only plans I had were in my head, and several times I had to change something mid stride to get what I was Picturing in my head. I dry fitted all of my pieces. got every thing clamped together felt real proud of myself, then I went to go put my last piece in its place, then that dreaded sound, Snap! my heart sunk, I looked to see what damage there was, not good, sure with a little bit of glue I might be able to salvage it. still the pieces wasn’t completely lost at this point, I still could use it to dry fit everything together, it would be just a little wobbly, then Crack! aw c”mon now what, the other end of the stretcher busted clean off. lessoned learned never use Poplar for furniture. I grabbed the rest of Poplar I had and with a fine tooth comb Kept seeing hairline cracks running through my boards. Nice fire wood.
