Hey guys I’m in the planning stages of building some dovetailed and box jointed crates that will be made to have an antique look and used for a book case. My question is what would traditionaly be used to attach the bottom of a crate like that, a stopped dado, or just a simple rabbet? Thanks for any help guys!

Best marking gauge? - 8 replies
I’m looking to get my first marking gauge and wanted some opinons from you guys. My top choices are either a veritas wheel marking guage, or a crown mortise/marking gauge. Although i’ve read on some forums that the harbor freight marking guage is a good beginers tool to purchase and is basically the exact same as the crown. Thanks...

In a perfect world I’d love to build a new yankee style router station, but I just don’t have the room in my garage for a setup that size. I’m now trying to decide between building a much smaller stand alone router table, or buying a nice benchtop router table ( I currently have a cheap one that is passable but a PIA to use), ...

Hello, I’m hoping to get a little help from someone a little more knowledgable about stanley hand planes. I have an opportunity to buy a Stanley number 8 Jointer plane that is in really good condition, no rust, handles are tight, etc. The seller wants $75 for it, is that a good price? I’m VERY new to using hand...
