Woodworking has been a hobby of mine for 20 plus years. I’ve been a member of Lumberjocks for quite sometime now. I think what makes this website so different and unique is the Projects Gallery. I wished I had taken photos of all the things I’ve done over the years. It’s been difficult to break old habits so obviously I am not the best at posting pictures. And must admit, probably even worse at taking pictures of the work I do. Will try to work on that. Just about everyday I click on the Lumberjocks link and when I do I am truly impressed by all the craftsmanship and clever ideas I see. Spite my lack of updating my own profile at Lumberjocks, I am glad to be a part of it.

Thank you. I have seen your shop as well. You have quite the collection of routers !!
What inspired me to update my profile here today was your blog of same questions, same answers. I quote, “Some times I see people answering questions that have no information on there home page and judging by their answer are reviewing tools or techniques based on theory rather than experience.”.....I must say I agree and I do look to see what other have on their home page and base their opinoins and answers to questions. I’ll have to break habits and dig out the camera from time to time to update my home page. My own experience my be revelent to questions or opinoins I may have on this site too.

yuri - Thanks. The basement is not quite divided in the middle by a load bearing wall. The one side is 8×30 and its for storage and laundry facilities. The shop side is about 12×30, my mechanicals (furnace & water heater) are there too, so it’s not all shop space. I put everthing on wheels so I can move things around if need be. Some of the tools I keep up against the wall and pull them out in the open to use them

Roger- Well my dust collection is a bit generic. I have 2 shop vacs and 2 dust right separators. I have 7 machines. On four machines I have them hooked up to a short run of 2-1/2” pvc, blast gates, one shop vac, and one dust right separator. The other three machines are on on another short run of 2-1/2 pvc, blast gates, one shop vac, and one dust right separator. It works ok. The fine dust is a small problem, but the chips aren’t so much. I will eventualy get a “real collector”, but this works better than nothing.

Ok kdc…..how long did it take you to vacuum and dust everything to get these spotless photos….?
It does look great. Nice and organized.
After reading your response to A1jim about updating, I realize I need to update my shop photos. There been changes since the originally posting. But then I would have to vacuum and dust…..”oh bother”...to get it to look half as good as yours.

GaryL – heeluvawreck – thanks for the compliments. I’d be lying if I said my shop looked that cleaned and organized all the time. So I admit, it was a bit staged for the photos…..

Great looking shop and use of space. Great to see a shop neat and tidy and always ready for woodworking, I hate to see clutter, you sure have it looking well.

bluekingfisher – Thanks for the compliment… I try to put things away every time I call it a day in my little workshop to help keep it organized….Have to admit though I spent a little extra time cleaning it up before I took the pictures
