If I could choose my reincarnation it would be as a fine woodworker. I am what is called a wood butcher and a stick builder. I just don't have the talent and have only managed a few projects. But I so much admire the skill and talent of others.
I currently am the media relations officer at The Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art in Kansas City and have the joy of knowing fine restorers and fine craftsmen.
My only "D" in school was in junior high school when during a nine-week segment of woodworking I wasn't able to successfully plane a block of wood into a notepad. Yet I keep at it. Take pity on me.
