I am somewhat of a gearhead but lately have converted to hobby woodworker. My day job involves creating service information for new cars so I like woodworking as I find it helps me forget about work. Mostly self taught accept for some high school shop classes back in the day and lots of reading. I got started this after looking for good furniture at a reasonable price and came up short. Sick and tired of pressboard I started with a small table saw and now have many more tools, mostly purchased as I find a deal. I think I like looking for lumber deals at auctions as much as building stuff.
FAMILY - Happily married with 2 daughters, 5 and 2. I am very fortunate to have a wife that allows me to spend a lot of my spare time in "the barn".
ABOUT MY HABIT - I probably make more sawdust than anything else but hate to waste anything so the scrap pile gets bigger and bigger. I prefer practicaliity and simplicity over elegance but do try my best to make the best project I can. I like to borrow ideas from magazines and books but often modify at least something to make it my own. I have been very fortunate to have a separate space for woodworking but it still needs lots of work to be complete. I have tried a bit of everything as long as the lines are mostly straight.
