Short entry here. I scraped the majority of the bark off with a draw knife and let it continue to dry some more. Now I’ve moved on to the spoke shave and smoothed it all out.. I also used my belt sander to smooth the edges around the top and bottom of the head of the maul..I also gave the end grain a second coat of paint to further prevent checking. Next up wrapping the handle with leather!
