Okay I'm dumb but I need to ask something - 35 replies

So I’m trying out two rotary power tools – one is of course the Dreemel. It goes 30,000 rpm,s and to this day, I’ve never been able to stall it and it has guts. The other is a new tool, it also goes 30,000 but has a very flexible coil shaft instead of the stiff cable shaft of the Dreml and the motor is pin drop silent. What I can...

Ads - 61 replies

I’ve been away for awhile and wonder if it’s just me but the ads seem to be appearing and interfering with a lot of the functions – ie covering up the logout spot as well as coming into the zoom in areas of the photos. Is this affecting anyone else’s viewing?

foot switch - 16 replies

I currently run my Dremel 4000 on a Dremel foot pedal which they no longer make. Now I’m wondering what other brand to buy as I’d like to have one on each of my two Dremels with different sized collets. The 4000 says 120V and 1.6 amps but the foot pedals I’ve seen on line say 115 V and I really don’t understand electricit...

New tools for me!!!! - 11 replies

When I left BC, I had to sell many of my tools because they were so heavy, or getting on in years, I suppose. Well, this summer I have been painting and diddling around, getting my wood edged at the place I buy it – which leaves huge gouges and not easy to laminate. Fortunately, the last of my carvings just went out the door which means I ...

Could someone check the Shoe challenge blogs? - 10 replies

Whoever is still awake, could you help me by checking out the blogs to see if the photos are still there? It’s a long story but after I changed all of my photos to Martin’s server, it still looks like they are being looked at from mine (according to my website statistics)- except I deleted all of them from mine and I’m wonderin...

I'm gonna be in pictures! - 44 replies

LOL, well not the Oscars type pictures, well, not even the Emmy’s, hmmm, what’s left? How about a two minute video for the Dremel company? I guess that’s good enough especially since they’re sending me the video camera. I think they came onto my website and thought it might be nice to show people how I use their tool to c...

What tool is this? - 35 replies

When I moved into my new house, there was a saw in the garage. Please don’t consider me ignorant however, my knowledge of tools and what they’re used for is very limited to Dremels! Is this like a radial arm saw and can this blade, whatever it is, be changed to a single type blade? Is this as old as the hills? It does work.Thank you s...

The Great Tupelo Search is over! - 5 replies

Thanks all of you for your investigation skills. I ended up with one of the few and rare pieces that seem to be floating around, which is kind of surprising to me. However I got a 6×7.5×14” chunk from Exotic Hardwoods in Ontario. $100 shipping included but the project it’s for is about $2500 so it was worth it – uh oh...

Looking for large Tupelo chunks - 13 replies

Does anyone know where I could get some large sizes of Tupelo? Perhaps 8” thick? I have tried Cape Fear and they are currently having problems of some type and 7 oaks however they never answer their emails. In my area I can’t find basswood larger than 4” thick and I’m working on a larger project that I cannot laminate cer...
