Had a great day at the Woodworking show this weekend, met some LJ’s, kids turned pens, looked at lots of new stuff and of course spent money, otherwise known as retail therapy.
To the LJer’s – great meeting you and getting to spend time talking on the floor, having coffee and at lunch. I gathered lots of great information on the pen turning, something I have never done and the kids loved. Grampa of course purchased a small lathe for them, it is now up to me to get some tools and supplies, by far the more expensive part!
Personally I focused on the back lot tools, picking up cheap versions of specialty tools I can not justify the spending for quality tools. Also on the DC area, more couplers, bends etc. My discussions with the vendors did not turn up any source for smooth(er) interior walls on the flexible hoses. It seems like such a simple improvement to get better laminar flow in the ducting.
All in all a wonderful day with family and friends, old and new. cheers

Was my first trip to the Baltimore show, had a nice time, so did the wife and baby boy. Got a Bessey strap clamp (for miters) and a couple of bargain basement tools from the liquidators in the corners ($4 for a 3/8” 12” long masonry bit with 1” SDS end. the BORG wants over 40 bucks!
Had a good time. Lots of toys I wish I could have come home with.
